Oesophagus 食管
The oesophagus is a long, soft tube inside your body.
It starts at the back of your throat and ends at your stomach.
When you swallow food or drink, it passes through the oesophagus.
Muscles in the wall of the oesophagus push food down to the stomach.
This tube keeps food and liquids moving in the right direction.
If something gets stuck here, it can make swallowing feel hard.
