The breastbone is a long, flat bone found in the middle of the chest.
It joins with the ribs to help build the front part of the rib cage.
The breastbone is important because it protects the heart and other organs behind it.
You can touch your breastbone between your left and right ribs.
The breastbone does not move when you breathe or stretch.
If the breastbone gets hit or hurt, it can become sore for a while.
