Seeds /siːdz/
Seeds are small parts inside many fruits that help plants reproduce.
Each seed contains the beginning of a new plant and can grow when placed in suitable soil.
The number, size, and shape of seeds are different for each kind of fruit.
Some fruits, like watermelons and papayas, have many seeds inside.
Others, such as cherries and peaches, have only one large seed.
Seeds are often removed before eating, but some, like those in strawberries or kiwifruits, can be eaten safely.
Fruit seeds play an important role in the life cycle of plants, helping to create new generations.
In some cases, seeds are used for oil production or as food for people and animals.
