"Have you ever seen a panda in person? They are so cute!"
Note that "an elephant" and "a panda" are both singular nouns, so you would use the indefinite articles "an" and "a" before them. "An" is used before a word that starts with a vowel sound, and "a" is used before a word that starts with a consonant sound.
